Cross Country: Paradise finishes 10th

The Paradise Lady Panthers had three runners in the top 25 Monday in the 3A Region I race, but it was not enough to get them out of a tough region.

Paradise finished 10th with 241 points.

Presidio won the region crown with 108. Tulia took second, Wall third and Clyde fourth. Clyde tallied 156 points to earn the final state berth.

Kaycee Martin completed the 3,200-meter Mae Simmons Park course in 12:43 to finish 17th. Coleman’s Marie Rosales snagged the final individual berth to state, finishing two spots and three seconds ahead of Martin.

Paradise’s Hannah Beth Pearson took 18th in 12:44. Maddie Mitschke was 24th in 12:58. Jana Messenger ran 13:44 for 77th and Emerson Adams 14:34 for 130th.

Christy Sinclair was 138th in 14:40 and Rose Powers 162 in 15:29.

Boyd’s Carrie Schwartz finished 65th in 13:31.
