Cross Country: Lady Panthers take second

Three Paradise runners finished in the top eight as the Lady Panthers took second in the girls 3,200 at the James Smith Invitational in Midlothian Thursday.

Paradise finished 17 points behind meet champion Castleberry with 58 points.

Hannah Beth Pearson led the Lady Panthers, taking sixth in 13:29. Maddie Mitschke finished two seconds behind her in sixth. Kaycee Martin ran 13:35 for eighth. Allyson Black took 12th in 13:53 and Emersen Adams 27th in 15:05.

Rose Powers ran 15:06 for 28th and Christy Sinclair 15:37 for 33rd.

The Paradise Panthers finished fifth in the boys 4A-and-under 5K with 162 points.

Matthew Eisen took seventh in 18:03. Kobe Wakefield ran 18:23 for 15th, Justin Culp 19:08 for 30th, Jacoby Isaacs 19:45 for 44th, Cordell Scarlett 21:02 for 68th, Ryan Austin 21:02 for 70th and Masun Luna 22:32 for 83rd.
