Cross Country: Lady Panthers finish third in Challenge

With three runners in the top six, the Paradise Lady Panthers brought home second at the Metroplex Challenge Thursday at Haltom City.

Paradise finished with 63 points. Castleberry won the 4A-and-under race with 24 points.

Maddie Mitschke finished second on the 3,200-meter course in 13:19. Castleberry’s Caitlin Buendia won the race in 12:41.

Paradise’s Hannah Beth Pearson ran 13:29 for fifth and Kaycee Martin 13:42 for sixth.

Emerson Adams took 22nd in 15:09. Ciera Brock garnered 30th in 16:03 as the fifth Lady Panther.

Allyson Black finished 31st in 16:04 and Christy Sinclair 33rd in 16:25. Christina Tipton ran 17:27 for 43rd, Mercedes Carillo 18:27 for 51st and Ashley Kosman 18:55 for 57th.

Led by Matthew Eisen’s eighth place finish in 18:39 in the 4A-and-under 5K, the Paradise Panthers were third with 88 points.

Kobe Wakefield finished 13th in 19:01, Jacoby Isaacs 15th in 19:20, Justin Culp 21st in 19:53 and Ryan Austin 31st in 21:23.

Cordell Scarlett was 34th in 21:36 and Masun Luna 41st in 23:49.

The Paradise teams will run Sept. 28 at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.
