Basketball: Lady Panthers trip Alvord

The Paradise Lady Panthers edged the Alvord Lady Bulldogs 43-33 on Tuesday night to move to 8-5 on the season.

Paradise jumped out to an early 18-4 lead in the first quarter, quickly mounting a double-digit advantage. Junior guard Maddie Mitschke led the way for the Lady Panthers with a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Mitchske is the team’s leading rebounder on the season.

Kaycee Martin added 15 points and five assists for Paradise, as well.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 45 percent from the floor in the loss. Cydney Bailey led Alvord in scoring with 10 points on 66 percent shooting from the floor and 100 percent from three point range.
