The Bridgeport Sissies are off to a sizzling start.

With a 64-44 victory over Graham Tuesday night, the Sissies moved to 6-0.

“It’s been fun. We’ve been working hard in practice. Every one is giving 110 percent,” said sophomore guard Emily Vidal.

The Sissies are averaging 54 points per game, while holding opponents to just 37.

“We’re off to a good start. We’ve got our nucleus back from last year,” said Bridgeport coach Dallas Taylor. “They are doing a good job of getting better every day.”

Bridgeport still has a lot of room for growth, playing without a senior on the eight-person roster.

“We’re young, but we’re not young,” Taylor said. “The core of our team is juniors. They are great kids that work hard.”

Taylor pointed out the team’s depth has helped. The Sissies showed that Tuesday with six players scoring. Vidal led the way with 25. Delaney Ingram added nine. Lexine Stone and Ashley Ingram had eight each.

“I’m playing eight kids, and when our subs come in there’s no drop off,” Vidal said.

Ashley and Delaney Ingram grabbed six rebounds each.

The Sissies headed to the Granbury Tournament Thursday and opened up with the host. The tournament included Aledo, Fossil Ridge, Godley and Weatherford.

“It’s going to help us a lot,” said junior Morgen Davidson.
