The Boyd Lady Jackets picked up their first district win, knocking off Henrietta 45-42.

Jules Tullos hit a free throw with three seconds left and then got a steal leading to a layup to put the game away.

“It wasn’t pretty, but it goes as a W, so I’ll take it,” said Boyd coach Erica Warner. “It’s nice to go into the Christmas break with a much-needed win.”

The Lady Jackets were led in scoring by Paytin Bullard, who finished with 15 points. Meagan Terry added eight points of her own, while Macey McCuine tossed in seven.

Boyd led 35-24 going into the final frame and fended off a Henrietta fourth-quarter comeback attempt. The Lady Bearcats outscored Boyd 18-10 in the fourth quarter.

With the victory, the Lady Jackets move to 4-11 on the season and 1-3 in District 8-3A.
