With the tying run on second, Paradise pitcher Brad Young got a pair of groundouts to end the game and preserve a 4-3 win over Nocona Tuesday.

Young worked three innings in relief for the save, allowing a run on two hits with four strikeouts.

Marshall Payton earned the win with nine strikeouts in four innings, allowing two unearned runs on three hits.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, Paradise rallied with two in the third and a run in the fourth and seventh innings.

Matthew Whalen’s grounder that plated Patrick Dorado in the seventh proved to be the game winner.

Paradise (11-10-1) moved to 5-4 in District 8-3A. The Panthers entered Friday’s game with Boyd one game out of the five-way tie for first.
