Baseball: Heritage stops Texans

The Northwest Texans’ playoff march ended Saturday with a 9-0 loss in game three of their 5A Region I quarterfinal series against Colleyville Heritage.

After the Texans took game one of the series Thursday, Heritage won the final two games in shutouts, outscoring Northwest 19-0.

Northwest’s season ended at 27-11.

Heritage pitcher Cameron Ehringer struck out six, walked one and allowed one hit in six innings. Isaiah Alvarenga struck out the side in his inning of relief.

The Heritage offense scored a pair of runs in the second and third innings before breaking the game open with three in the fourth to take an 8-0 lead. Bobby Witt capped three-run third with a two-run homer.

Witt had a two-run triple in game two and drove in four runs in the series.
