Wilson Hicks’ two-run single in the bottom of the sixth lifted the Decatur Eagles to a 4-3 victory over Kennedale Saturday in their final tuneup before the District 9-4A opener.

Hicks finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs. He also singled in a run in the first.

Derek Potts collected the other RBI for the Eagles.

Hicks worked five innings on the mound, allowing two runs – one earned – on four hits with two strikeouts. Trey Penny and Bryce Elder threw a scoreless inning each in relief.

Decatur (11-5) started district Tuesday against Argyle. The Eagles go to Bridgeport Friday.
