Baseball: Boyd stays atop District 8-3A

Spencer Pellegrini’s one-hit gem kept the Boyd Yellowjackets in a tie with Jacksboro for the District 8-3A lead.

Pellegrini struck out 10 in five innings of Boyd’s 14-0 win over City View Friday.

Pellegrini also drove in three runs and tripled, going 2-for-5.

Boyd (14-15, 9-3) took on Henrietta Tuesday and will go to Jacksboro Friday.


Brysen Meyers struck out 10 and held Henrietta to just five hits over seven innings as the Paradise Panthers beat Henrietta 14-0.

Paradise (13-11, 7-5) pulled into a tie with Henrietta for fourth place in 8-3A.

Meyers doubled and drove in two runs. Brad Young, Blaine Gibson and Bridger Skogberg had a pair of RBIs each.


Connor Patterson and Clay Baker combined to hold Collinsville to a run on six hits in the Alvord Bulldogs’ 7-1 win Friday.

Alvord wrapped up the third seed out of District 10-2A with the victory.

Baker struck out six and allowed only one hit in four scoreless innings of relieve.

Patterson went 3-for-3 at the plate.

Tyler Machal doubled in a run during the Bulldogs’ four-run seventh inning.
