Minions dedicated to Trump

When the U.S. Supreme Court altered the course of American history with its Citizens United decision, I predicted and wrote in this newspaper that from that day forward America’s former and long-functioning great open election system was placed on the world’s auction block. Our political system was henceforth surrendered to the highest bidder.

It was only a matter of time before foreign money and actions would play a decisive role in electing a president. Enter Russia and America’s current Oval Office Denizen. The investigation will, in time, uncover the entire rat’s nest, including the King Rat’s participation, as well as the cockroach colony residing immediately below.

President Jimmy Carter publicly proffered his opinion that “Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country; in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president. And the same thing applies to governors and U.S. senators and Congress members. So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.” Trump played and continues to play to Russia’s oligarchy and in fact is in the process of establishing an American oligarchy of his own, emulating his puppet master Putin’s.

Trump has minions, not like the little cute ones in “Despicable Me,” but the first definition thereof, “a servile follower or subordinate of a person in power.” I submit that the president has about him the single largest mob of servile minions ever amassed to do his bidding in American politics. It’s interesting how it seems the 25th amendment was coined specifically for this presidency; how could the founders have known there would be a time?

Eighty-one-percent of America’s self-professed evangelicals cast their votes for a self-professed evangelical of convenience who, by his own words and mouth, admitted to multiple and repeated sexual assaults; and voyeurism by claiming to enter the dressing room of a Miss Teenage America beauty pageant, just because “he owned it and was allowed.” Moreover, he once suggested to a very young girl that “in 10 years he would date her!” Pedophile? OK, American evangelicals: you made him; you put him in office. Therefore, you own him; deal with him.
