Global warming is pseudoscience

This is an answer to the letter by Ken Hughes on global warming.

It is all pseudoscience. Al Gore picked up on this and ran with it to get rich.

The article below came out a long time ago, and none of it has happened as of yet. The weather is changing, but it always has and will continue no matter what we do.

There has been no change in Earth’s temperature in the past 17 years. See the article below. It’s an AP story from Nov. 2, 1922, published in The Washington Post.

“The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate, at Bergen, Norway. Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm.

“Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones,” the report continued, “while at many points well-known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts, which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt, the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.”

When Chicken Little Al Gore blows more smoke about manmade global warming or climate change, just remember this news article was dated almost 100 years ago. Remember also that the Creator that hung the stars in the sky and keeps them in perfect order is more than capable of keeping our planet from dying until its time is up, and when that happens, it won’t matter what man tries to do to save himself.

There are over 500,000 pieces of space junk in orbit around Earth, some as large as a house. There are about 1,100 active satellites and 2,600 that no longer work in orbit, and all have very large solar arrays.

All this “stuff” blocks the sunlight from hitting Earth. It would appear to me that we should be worried more about the Earth overcooling than overheating. In fact, there is much more proof of the cooling effect than of the warming effect. The South Pole ice has increased by about 1/3 in the past five years. If carbon dioxide really is warming the planet, it may actually be a good thing because it offsets the cooling effect man has caused by space travel.

You folks using sixth grade science to believe Al Gore might do a little more research and see what is really going on. This is all about the redistribution of wealth. About 635 million years ago, the earth froze solid. Man did not cause it because he was not here then. The weather changes; that is a fact. But to think that man has the ability to effect it is being very arrogant. God is still in control and has given us a president that does not fall for all the junk science.

One Response to “Global warming is pseudoscience”

  1. says:

This letter to the editor entitled, “Global warming is pseudoscience,” is nonsense. The set of observations from the limited area of Spitzbergen, Norway in one year which its author cites has been used repeatedly by climate science deniers to suggest that there are enormous natural variations in weather and to imply that there is no global warming. Since satellite data dates only from 1979, however, it is more challenging, yet still possible, to explore long-term data. See, for example, https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/cag/time-series/global/globe/land_ocean/ytd/12/1880-2016 from NOAA. This series provides global-scale temperature information using data from the Global Historical Climatology Network-Monthly (GHCN-M) data set and International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS). The Spitzenbergen weather data is an example of local, short-term weather variation. The NOAA data is a genuine example of science.
