Rhome City Council approves zoning change

Rhome City Council met Thursday night. The council:

  • held a public hearing on and approved a zoning change from retail to multi-family for a tract of land located in the Smith County School land survey.
  • approved a resolution designating the city as a management agency for wastewater collection and treatment.
  • appointed Thomas Cannon as an alternate to the Planning and Zoning commission.
  • approved a change to the city’s ordinance regarding installation and maintenance of service lines to say that property owners must maintain the services line to the city’s lateral or the street, whichever is closest to the property.
