Remley indicted for gun threat

A Weatherford man who threatened two Decatur residents in their home with a gun April 8 has been indicted for multiple felony offenses.

Daniel Joseph Remley, 37, was indicted by a Wise County grand jury Aug. 17 for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, burglary of a habitation intend other felony, five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and injury to a child/elderly/disabled with intent to cause bodily injury.

According to arrest affidavits filed in the case, Remley went to a home in the 400 block of Mesa Ridge, east of Decatur, pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot a mother and her adult daughter.

At one point, Remley lowered the pistol and fired a single round in the direction of the mother.

Neither victim was injured.

Remley then left the house and was stopped by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers after a short pursuit. He was arrested on charges related to the assault, as well as drug and alcohol charges.
