Meeting Previews for Saturday, September 23, 2017

RHOME CITY COUNCIL – Rhome City Council has several items on the agenda for its 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, meeting. Council members will discuss: the city’s five-year plan; the purchase and installation of automatic meter readers; bond-funded capital improvement projects; software and hardware updates in city facilities; new city staff positions for fiscal year 2017-2018; code compliance officer and their contract; the resignation of a member of the planning and zoning commission and filing vacancies on the same; allowing the Rhome Veteran’s Group to install a Christmas tree in the veterans park and to host a lighting ceremony; interlocal agreements for animal control services with Wise County and fire protection and first responder services with Wise and Tarrant counties. Northwest ISD Superintendent Ryder Warren will also speak on the impact of growth on schools, including future school needs and upgrades and improvements to existing schools. Rhome City Council meets at the Community Center, 261 N. School Road.

BRIDGEPORT CITY COUNCIL – Bridgeport City Council meets at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25. There will be a public hearing over an ordinance to approve a standards of care policy for the Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Department’s after-school program and other camps. Also on the agenda: amending electric utility rates; authorizing the submission of an application for a Texas Parks and Wildlife grant; nominating candidates to serve on the Wise County Appraisal District Board of Directors; and a workshop on water quality maintenance flushing. The meeting is at City Hall, 900 Thompson Street.
