TALENT SHOW – Boyd Middle School students will have a talent show 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, in the cafeteria.


GT REFERRALS – Bridgeport ISD will be accepting GT referral forms for students who are currently in kindergarten through 11th grade. The referral window closes Dec. 21. All completed referral forms must be returned to your child’s campus by 4 p.m. Dec. 21. Referral forms are at each campus office and on the BISD website.

EARLY RELEASE – School will be released early Friday, Dec. 22.

WINTER BREAK – School is out for winter break from Dec. 25 to Jan. 5.


YEARBOOK ORDER – Yearbooks are available for $40, or $45 with personalization. Ordering information is on the district website.


STUDENT COUNCIL COLLECTS TOYS – The Decatur High School Student Council is collecting unwrapped toys until Dec. 15 in the offices for Santa Cops.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA – AVID is hosting Breakfast with Santa 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Young Elementary.

EARLY DISMISSAL – DISD will dismiss at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, and Thursday, Dec. 21.

WINTER BREAK – Winter break is Dec. 25 to Jan. 5. Jan. 8 is a staff development day.

GO-FORCE – The University of North Texas’ Go-Force will be on the DHS campus 9 a.m. to noon every Thursday this semester. They are here to assist all grade levels in college and career planning. Make an appointment in the first-floor office.


ACADEMY APPLICATIONS – Northwest ISD’s academies are now accepting applications for incoming 2018-19 freshmen – current district eighth-graders – who wish to take part in one of eight specialized academic routes. The eight academies – focusing on aviation, biomedical sciences, business, college, cosmetology, creative media production, culinary arts and STEM – annually open the application process to eighth-graders and select students for admittance based on those submissions. Students can apply for any academy, regardless of the high school they are zoned to attend. Each student may only apply to one academy. To apply for an academy, current eighth-grade students can visit www.nisdtx.org/cte. The application process runs through Jan. 15, with acceptance and denial letters scheduled for mailing on Feb. 10.


BUNDT CAKE FUNDRAISER – Project Graduation is sponsoring a bundt cake fall fundraiser. Deadline to order is Wednesday, Dec. 13. Details and order forms are at pisd.net.
