Willie White

Willie White, 89, of Fort Worth, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, in Euless.

Funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with the Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow at Chico Cemetery.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Chris Kulhman, Andy White, Preston White, Chase White and Reece White.

Willie was born Dec. 18, 1927, in Oktaha, Okla., to Willis Arch and Rilla Mae (Stacy) White. He married Mary Reasoner in November of 1987 in Fort Worth. Willie worked for the Fort Worth Star Telegram for more than 40 years until his retirement.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport. Willie was a member of the Typographical Union and a lifetime member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Darlene Faye Keeler; his wife; daughter Susan Moore and husband, Gary; son Willis Dale White Jr.; sisters Wanda Miller and Glyndyne Elson; and brothers Jack White and Earton Lee White.

He is survived by his daughter, Lea Ann White of Fort Worth; sons Robert White and wife, Pam, of Fort Worth and Archie White and wife, Jan, of Saginaw; stepsons Jerry Morrow and wife, Becky, of Bridgeport, Dale Morrow and wife, Lolita, of Fort Worth and Kenny Morrow and wife, Donna, of Paradise; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, dance partners and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Cathedral International, Ref: Willis White Outreach Fund, 1701 Oakhurst Scenic Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76111.
