Thomas Jennings Brown, 87, of Decatur, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, in Decatur.

Funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the First Baptist Church in Decatur with Gerre Joiner officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church.

Thomas was born May 22, 1930, in Decatur to Jennings Crisp and Agnes (Duffey) Brown. He married Linda Louise Stutt in 1980 in Decatur. Thomas retired from Texas Department of Transportation as an engineer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur and served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.

Thomas is survived by his son, Tony Brown of Fort Worth; daughter Shelby Ivy and husband, Rick, of Ponder; stepdaughter Stephanie Martinez of Decatur; grandchildren Christopher and Austin Brown; stepgrandchild Zachary Martinez of Krum; brother Claude Duffey Brown of Fort Worth; brother-in-law James Stutt of Decatur; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
