Susan Michelle “Shelly” Moore, 56, of Springtown, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, in Fort Worth, from complications from a horse riding accident.

Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the First Baptist Church in Cottondale. Jeans and boots or other casual attire is requested.

Shelly’s body was donated.

Shelly was born April 15, 1961, in Sweetwater.

She was an active member of the Church of Christ her entire life, faithfully serving the Lord and worshiping Him in song with a powerful alto voice.

Apart from her faith, family was Shelly’s No. 1 priority. She cherished her close relationships with relatives in addition to the 17 foreign exchange students with whom she felt honored to share her home. Her graciousness was not limited to her family; it spilled over into anyone’s life that she touched.

She was a hard worker and student. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University and recently received her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin. She had been employed by Burlington Northern Santa Fe for many years.

Shelly was preceded in death by her father, Gary Ivy; brother Jim Ivy; and her grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Moore; daughter Katrina Lawrence; son Zac Moore and wife, Laura; granddaughter Heidi Moore; parents Jurhee Ivy and Jerry Clary, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
