Kenneth Wade Stone, 84, of Decatur, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, in Decatur.

Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur is handling arrangements.

Kenneth was born Feb. 8, 1933, in Fort Cobb, Okla., to Herman Levi and Ruby Alice (Martin) Stone. He was a two-year veteran in the United States Army. Kenneth married Shirley Hinton Aug. 27, 1955, in Globe, Ariz. He worked for Mt. Bell Phone Co. in Arizona and retired after 30 years of service. He and Shirley spent a lifetime split between Arizona and Texas, having fun sharing many adventures and creating countless memories.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a sister.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years; daughters Brenda Ferguson and husband, Rick, of Phoenix and Tammy St. John and husband, Ray, of Ava, Mo.; grandchildren Chris Stelzer and wife, Rachel, of Phoenix, Kendra Stelzer of Phoenix, Tonya St. John of Phoenix and Justin St. John of Springfield, Mo.; two nephews; and friends.
