Karl “KC” Clifford Schoenthal, 54, of Paradise, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, in Paradise.

Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Richland Hills with burial at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

KC was born April 28, 1963, in Littleton, Colo., to Frank and Edith (Bilton) Schoenthal. He married Tracie Ann Portman Dec. 20, 1986, in North Richland Hills. KC was a police officer for 31 years at Bedford, Haltom City, the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, Rhome and was currently with River Oaks Police Department. He served his country as a rifleman in the United States Marine Corps for three tours of duty in Beirut, Lebanon, earning many commendations. KC loved spending time with his family and fly fishing.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

KC is survived by his wife of almost 31 years; daughter Cassie Krejci and husband, Ryan, of College Station; son Chance Schoenthal of Caldwell; granddaughter Callie Krejci of College Station; his father; brother Chris Schoenthal and wife, Lynn, of Grand Prairie; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and friends.
