Anna Deaton

Anna Lee McDaniel Deaton, 89, of Bridgeport, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in Bridgeport.

Funeral was June 30 at Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport with the Rev. Dale Webster officiating. Burial followed at East Bridgeport Cemetery.

Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport handled arrangements.

Pallbearers were Larry McDaniel, Lynn Smith, Brice Aydelott, Raylen Read and Mike Deaton.

Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Mask, Charlie Deaton, Ricky Read and Bobby Carpenter.

Anna was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Wise County, the ninth of 16 chidren, to Richard Dow and Florance Winford (Sanders) McDaniel. She married the love of her life, Jessie James Deaton, Dec. 29, 1945. They made their home in and around Bridgeport.

Bridgeport is where a lifetime of wonderful memories was made. She loved her Lord, her mate, her church and her really large family. Anna was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport, serving her Lord there for 71 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings Pearl Maxine Martin, Artie Mae Weatherly, Essie Lou Grisham, Hubert Richard McDaniel, Gwendolyn Esta Parsons, Cecil Cordell McDaniel, James Sylvester McDaniel, Ellis Rvon McDaniel, Florance Bernice Dixson, Millard Leon McDaniel, Larkin Don McDaniel, Tommy Jack McDaniel and Bessie Nell Bode.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Sue Deaton of Bridgeport and Rebecca Jane Smith and husband, James, of Jacksboro; grandchildren James Lynn Smith and wife, Stacie, of Wellington, Valeria Rajane Read and husband, Rodney, of Bridgeport and Janice Lanell Inman and husband, David, of Jacksboro; great-grandchildren Jon Raylen Read, Victoria Lynn Aydelott, Donavon Brice Aydelott, Carter Lynn Smith and Jackson Lynn Smith; and sweet extras, Brooklyn, Blake and Christian.

Other survivors include sisters Cora Beth Read of Paradise and Janice Faye Garrett of Bridgeport; sisters-in-law Evelyn McDaniel of Bridgeport, Frankie Elam of Azle and Joyce McDaniel of Bridgeport; and nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
