The Bridgeport Sissies captured the opening set Tuesday, but couldn’t hold off Gainesville.

The Sissies fell 19-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-20 in the season finale.

Bridgeport finished the year 14-21 and 0-10 in the tough District 9-4A.

Bridgeport coach Jennifer Ragland praised the hard work of her team throughout the season.

“We fought hard all year. The team never gave up and worked so hard to put together a successful season,” Ragland said. “Our record does not indicate the progress and the little successes we had along the way. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls for my first year as head volleyball coach.”

Abbi Hatton buried 17 kills. Courtney Cline put down nine.

Katie Hudson recorded 14 assists and Jacquelyn Bailey 13.

Bailey also served two aces.

Hatton made 13 digs and Hudson 12.
