Swimming: Muscle relays earn medals

The Fit-N-Wise Muscle swim team brought home a pair of relay medals in the 15-and-over division at the USA Swim Level 2 Division 2 North Texas Long Course Championships last weekend in Lewisville.

The 200-meter medley team of Lizey Rowden, Bethany Butler, Allie Blevins and Jennifer Morehart finished third in 2:24.34.

The same group took second in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:03.06.

Blevins finished fourth in the 1,500 in 19:59.18. She was eighth in the 200 breaststroke in 3:23.99.

Butler was ninth in the 200 breaststroke in 3:23.99.

Rowden swam 1:04.98 for sixth in the 100 freestyle. She took seventh in the 50 freestyle in 29.46, eighth in the 200 backstroke in 2:42.52 and ninth in the 100 backstroke in 1:17.33.

In the 11-12 division, Shaylee Mann was 12th in the 100 butterfly in 1:27.66 and 16th in the 50 butterfly in 37.32.

Competing in the 10-and-under class, Dylan Mann finished eight in the 200 individual medley in 3:26.98 and 100 butterfly in 1:41.10. He was ninth in 200 freestyle in 1:35.88 and 100 backstroke in 1:35.88. Mann took 11th in the 50 butterfly in 42.47, 100 freestyle in 1:21.40, 13th in the 50 backstroke in 44.25 and 15th in the 50 freestyle in 37.27.

Muscle had 12 swimmers qualify for the meet with the top 16 making the finals.

Zach Levesque, Natalie Mai, Claire Mallory, Milly Rowden, Hannah Smith and Morehart qualified for individual events at the meet.
