Softball: Sissies take second

Jacksboro pushed across two runs in the fifth inning to edge the Bridgeport Sissies 5-4 in the championship game at the Millsap Tournament.

Bridgeport finished 3-2 at the tournament.

“Our very young team is working hard and improving with each game,” said Bridgeport coach Ruben Garza.

Senior Kensley Turner had four RBIs on 11 hits with one double and two triples in the tournament.

Hailey Hollingsworth struck out 23 and gave up four earned runs in four games.

Bridgeport beat Jacksboro in the first game of the tournament 5-3. The Sissies edged Gorman 3-1. Perrin topped Bridgeport 7-3. The Sissies turned around to beat Perrin in a rematch 4-1.
