Softball: Boyd blasts Paradise

The Boyd Lady Yellowjackets piled on eight runs in the top of the seventh on the way to an 18-5 victory over 9-3A rival Paradise.

Kristin Rasbury drove in a pair of runs on three hits. Payton Salmon, Kassiddy Lester and Amber Bowen had two RBIs each. Bowen doubled twice.

DECATUR 2, SPRINGTOWN 1

Reagan Chism struck out 14 and limited Springtown to one run on six hits Friday in a 2-1 Decatur victory.

Decatur scored both runs in the top of the seventh to secure the win.

BRIDGEPORT 7, CASTLEBERRY 6

Morgen Davidson’s lead-off triple in the sixth inning set the table for Alyssa Fry’s game-winning single in the Bridgeport Sissies’ 7-6 win over Castleberry.

Hailey Hollingsworth and Kensley Turner drove in two runs each.

ALVORD 16, MUENSTER 1
ALVORD 15, MUENSTER 0

The Alvord Lady Bulldogs rolled to 7-0 in District 12-2A with a sweep of Muenster in a doubleheader Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs won the opening game 16-1 with Brittany Gayler and Kaely Beaver hitting home runs.

Katelyn Schedcik drove in four runs, going 3-for-3 with a double. Beaver had three RBIs.

In the second game, Alvord won 15-0. Emily Burdine and Ashton Peterson each tripled and drove in three runs.

Mikena Mader pitched a combined six innings in the two games, allowing one run on five hits.
