Softball: Alvord blasts Chico

The Alvord Lady Bulldogs continued their roll through District 12-2A Tuesday.

Mikena Mader hit a grand slam, driving in five runs in the Lady Bulldogs’ 22-0 win over Chico.

The Lady Bulldogs moved to 5-0 in the league. They have outscored their past two opponents 52-0.

Alvord piled up 17 hits against Chico. Reagan Guthrie went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs.

In the pitching circle, Mader held Chico scoreless on three hits. She struck out seven.


Kaycee Martin doubled three times and drove in four runs in a 23-2 victory over Nocona.

Brooklyn Davis had three RBIs and doubled two times. Randa Taylor added a pair of doubles with two RBIs.

Paradise closed the game with a 10-run fourth.

Kailey Thomas struck out seven and limited Nocona to two runs on three hits.


Northwest managed only four hits Tuesday in a 6-1 loss to Keller.

Keller plated three runs in the first inning.
