Soccer: Sissies record program’s first win

The Bridgeport Sissies picked up the program’s first win Tuesday, beating the Chisholm Trail JV 3-1.

Maddie Cross booted in a pair of goals. Rebekah Powers added a third goal.

Dolores Amador handed out an assist.

Clara Ortiz made three saves in the four shots she faced in goal.

“The Sissies continue to improve, learning positioning and working the ball up to our attacking third,” said Bridgeport coach John Tuggle. “Maddie Cross found her shot from 50 yards out twice. Defender Rebekah Powers made a run through the offense and finished on a cross by Cross.”

CELINA 8, DECATUR 0

The Decatur Lady Eagles were blanked by Celina 8-0 Friday.

“We lost to a very strong Celina team,” said Decatur coach Jackie Lang.

BOYS

HALTOM 1, NORTHWEST 0

The Northwest Texans were held scoreless in a 1-0 loss to Haltom Tuesday.
