The Decatur Eagles earned bragging rights Friday, winning the first Battle of Big Sandy in soccer over the rival Bridgeport Bulls.

Decatur won 2-0 at Eagle Stadium.

Jaime Prado and Daniel Inguanzo booted in goals in the first half. The Eagles protected the advantage in the second half.

Decatur took over first place in District 3-4A with the victory at 3-0. Bridgeport fell to 2-1.


The Bridgeport Bulls bounced back in a big way from their loss Friday night with a 4-0 win over Burkburnett Monday.

Uriel Betancourt scored a hat trick with three goals in the game’s first 25 minutes. He also netted an assist.

Rogelio Galicia fired in a goal. Alex Martinez netted two assists.
