Lake Worth skips past Sissies

Lake Worth held off the Bridgeport Sissies for a 3-1 victory Tuesday at Bridgeport.

Rebekah Powers scored the Sissies’ lone goal on a penalty kick.

The Sissies dropped to 3-8 on the season.

Bridgeport fell to Venus 2-1 on Friday.

Maddie Cross scored the Sissies’ goal.

“We dominated the game, yet came up short on the scoreboard,” said Bridgeport coach John Tuggle. “We had multiple shots, controlled the field and worked the ball around very well.”

CELINA 7, DECATUR 0

The Celina Lady Bobcats blanked the Decatur Lady Eagles 7-0 Friday.

Decatur traveled to Mineral Wells Tuesday.

GUYER 0, NORTHWEST 0 (3-2 Guyer in shootout)

After battling to a scoreless tie, Denton Guyer picked up a victory over the Northwest Lady Texans in a shootout Friday.

BRIDGEPORT 3, VENUS 0

The Bridgeport Bulls turned in a dominating effort in blanking Venus 3-0.

“The Bulls played a complete game on Friday night, constantly threatening the opponents while keeping a shutout along the way,” said Bridgeport coach Ben Parks.

Justin Rexha and Efrain DeLuna punched in first-half goals. Alex Martinez, who assisted on the two goals, added a third in the second half.

ARGYLE 6, DECATUR 3

Daniel Inguanzo booted in two goals and Brett Bean added another but Decatur couldn’t catch Argyle Friday in a 6-3 loss.

The Eagles headed to Mineral Wells Tuesday.

DENTON GUYER 6, NORTHWEST 0

The Denton Guyer Wildcats dropped Northwest to 0-2 in District 5-6A with a 6-0 victory Friday.

Northwest returned to action Tuesday at Keller Central.
