Golf: Bulls finish 10th at regionals

The Bridgeport Bulls finished 10th at the Class 4A Region I tournament, shooting 655.

Cole Barton led the Bulls with a 157 over two rounds, tying for 28th. Blake Boyd shot 161. Ty Reed finished at 164. Alex Winter hit 175 and Brazier Talley 181.


Paradise senior Colton Wells bounced back from an opening round of 91 to shoot 79 Tuesday at Oak Hurst Golf Course in Bullard.

Wells’ 170 tied him for fourth among individual medalists. He was 14th overall.

Quitman’s Jeremy Bates won the tournament with a 143.


Chico’s Sadie Freeman shot a 251 over two rounds at the Class 2A Region II tournament at the Old Brickyard Golf Course in Ferris.

Freeman shot rounds of 120 and 131.

The Alvord Bulldogs boys team also competed at the 2A-II regional.

Tanner Petree put together rounds of 101 and 105. Crese Redman had rounds of 117 and 117. Hunter McClure shot 127 and 136.
