The Bridgeport Sissies controlled the game from the opening tip Friday in dismantling Lake Worth, 67-15.

Bridgeport (16-9, 2-0) ran out to a 22-4 lead to open the game. Holding Lake Worth to just one point in the second quarter, Bridgeport opened up a 40-5 halftime lead.

The Sissies kept pulling away in the second half, outscoring Lake Worth 27-10.

“Teams can tend to get sloppy in their execution on both ends of the floor in games like these. Our ladies did a quality job of staying fundamental and doing things the right way,” said Bridgeport coach Dallas Taylor.

Eleven players scored for Bridgeport. Abbi Hatton led the way with 14. Elaina Peyton added 13 and Gabby Mindieta 12.

Bridgeport took on Decatur Tuesday for the District 8-4A lead. The Sissies take on Castleberry at home Friday.
