Basketball: Paradise pulls into first place

The Paradise Lady Panthers grabbed an early lead and never let it slip away Tuesday in a 47-33 win over Jacksboro.

The Lady Panthers moved into a share of the District 9-3A lead at 7-1 with the victory to start the second half of league play and Bowie’s loss at Boyd. The two league leaders will meet Jan. 29 in Bowie.

The Lady Panthers met City View Friday and will face Nocona Tuesday before the meeting with Bowie.

Taylor Richards led Paradise Tuesday with 19 points. Maddie Mitschke added nine.

Paradise grabbed an 11-8 lead in the first quarter and went up 23-15 at halftime.

The Lady Panthers put the game away with a 16-10 closing run.
