Accolades continue to roll in for members of the Chico Dragons’ record-setting baseball team.

Catcher Tyler Melton and outfielder Jaston McBee earned first-team spots on the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association’s 2A all-state squad.

The pair helped power the Dragons to an unbeaten regular season.

Melton, the 10-2A MVP and Wise County Offensive Player of the Year, batted .673 and belted eight homers and drove in 39 runs before breaking his foot and missing the final regular season games and the Dragons’ three playoff series. His on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) was 2.26.

Jaston McBee, the 10-2A Offensive MVP and All-Wise outfielder, scored 52 runs and had 52 hits from the leadoff spot. He batted .515 with an OPS of 1.314.
