Baseball: Bulls pick up two wins

The Bridgeport Bulls finished 2-3 over the weekend at the American Cancer Society Tournament.

The Bulls earned a 7-5 win over Muenster and 3-2 victory over Henrietta. Bridgeport dropped decisions to Archer City (4-0), Peaster (9-3) and Bowie (8-0).

Bridgeport emerged from the tournament at 4-7 for the season.

“We learned some things about our team,” said Bridgeport coach Ted Leps. “We have a lot to work on, especially the mental aspect of the game.”

Colton Waters drove in three runs and earned the win against Muenster with his five innings on the mound.

Waters drove in two of the Bulls’ three runs in the victory over Henrietta.

Corbin Coleman struck out 11 and showed three hits in six innings of the win.
