The frontline tandem of seniors Dylana Hutchins and Emily Oxford powered the Decatur Lady Eagles to the 8-4A title and a fourth straight region final appearance.

This week, the duo earned spots on the Texas Girls Coaches Association 4A all-state team.

Hutchins put down 320 kills for the season along with 49 blocks and more than 500 digs.

Hutchins, who battled back from a significant back injury as a junior, was also the 8-4A MVP.

Oxford took Most Valuable Blocker in 8-4A after tallying 120 blocks and more than 250 kills.

Boyd junior outside hitter Kayleigh Pappajohn made the 3A all-state team. Pappajohn buried a team-high 501 kills with 263 digs in leading Boyd to the program’s first district title and the area round of the playoffs.
