CLARK TOPS 10K – Republican judge candidate J.D. Clark topped $10,000 in campaign contributions, according to the finance reports turned in Monday. In the last month, Clark collected $2,700 to bring his total campaign contributions to $10,400 leading up to the March 4 primary. Fellow judge candidate Keith McComis reported $3,285 in contributions, bringing his total to $6,085, and Kyle Stephens reported $150, his only contributions to date. EAGLES, HOUNDS FALL – Frisco Lone Star used a 9-0 run in the third quarter to take a lead it never surrendered in a 60-50 win over Decatur in the Class 3A Region II quarterfinal yesterday. Decatur was led by Cain Lowe with 24 points. Philip Walker added 11. The Slidell Greyhounds fell 62-60 to Roxton. Slidell held a six-point lead with under three minutes left. Isaac Davis finished with 28 points for the Greyhounds.

PRIMARY TASK – It’s less than a week until the March 4 primary elections, and only three days of early voting remain. Yesterday, 207 more people cast their votes at the three voting locations: Decatur City Hall, Bridgeport Law Enforcement Center and Rhome City Hall. Voting is 10 times heavier in the Republican primary, where 956 votes have been cast compared to 92 in the Democratic primary.

WARM BOWLS – Members of the Student Nurses Association (SNA) at Weatherford College Wise County along with the Weatherford College Jazz Band will host Warm Bowls – a fundraiser to help fill the nutrition need of Wise County residents by benefiting Wise Area Relief Mission (WARM). The event is Tuesday, March 4, in the Weatherford College Wise County cafeteria. It will feature food from Dos Chiles restaurant in Bridgeport and the Decatur Civic Center, as well as a jazz concert and an auction of hand-crafted pottery bowls made by Jazz Band members and nursing students. Dinner is at 6 p.m., and a jazz concert will follow from 7-8:30 p.m. An auction will cap off the evening. DHS BOOSTER GOLF TOURNAMENT – The Decatur High School Booster Club Golf Tournament is Sunday at The Club at Runaway Bay. Cost is $400 for a four-person team and includes mulligans and lunch. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. All proceeds benefit DHS golf teams.

ABWN GOLF TOURNAMENT – The Area Business Women’s Network (ABWN) Golf Tournament Fundraiser is Saturday, March 22, at the Decatur Country Club. Money raised will go to the organization’s student scholarship fund. Cost is $75 per person for two-person teams, limited to the first 30 teams. STORY RECEPTION – A come-and-go reception for Decatur ISD athletic director Kyle Story is 2:30-4:30 p.m. today in the Decatur High School library. Story recently accepted the head football coach position at the new Frisco Independence High School.

HEALTH FORUM AT COLLEGE – The Wise County Health Forum meets at 9 a.m. Thursday at Weatherford College Wise County.

YOUTH FAIR PREVIEW – This week’s All Around Wise mailed to all county residents and included in the Wednesday Wise County Messenger features a preview of next week’s Wise County Youth Fair. It includes a full schedule of events, profiles of Youth Fair queen contestants and youth fair-themed ads.
