As of 5:40 p.m. Thursday, repairs on a water line break in Bridgeport that has left the entire city without water since around 8:30 Thursday morning continued, with the expected completion around 10 p.m. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the city to notify customers of the need to boil water prior to consumption. The city has released a statement saying, “To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.” If you need more information, you can contact Bridgeport City Hall at 940-683-3400.
