CAR RUNS INTO WALL - A Decatur man was transported to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur and then flown to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident Monday night. The man, whose name was not available at the scene, was the driver of a silver pickup, the only vehicle involved in the wreck, which was reported just after 10 p.m. Investigators believe he had taken the exit off of U.S. 81/287 near McDonald’s in Decatur and turned left onto Washburn Street. It appears he veered to the right, jumped the curb and slammed into the concrete wall underneath the 81/287 overpass. The extent of his injuries were not known, but investigators believe a medical issue was a factor in the wreck.
