3 HURT IN WRECK NEAR COUNTY LINE — A head-on collision just east of the Wise/Denton county line Monday morning injured three people, including a Wise County resident. Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Lonny Haschel said the two vehicles collided in the construction zone less than a mile into Denton County on Texas 114, east of Rhome, around 9:40. Bambi Trotter, 39, of Rhome was eastbound when her Chevy Tahoe collided with a westbound Chevy Equinox driven by Francisco Guerrero, 34, of Euless. Trotter was flown from the scene to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Her 1-year-old son, who was properly restrained in a car seat, was taken to Cook Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Haschel said. Guerrero was transported to JPS by Wise County Medic 3. The cause of the wreck is still under investigation. Traffic was rerouted in the area for a couple of hours while the scene was cleared.
