RAINY WEEK CONTINUES – Parts of Wise County received more rainfall yesterday. In fact, the southern part of Wise County was briefly in a flash flood watch yesterday afternoon, although the heaviest rains stayed south of Wise County. Local amounts included 0.38 of an inch in Bridgeport and 0.1 in Rhome. The National Weather Service reported that from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 7 p.m. Wednesday, parts of Wise County received between 0.25 to 0.78 of an inch of rainfall. The rain has had a slight effect on Lake Bridgeport. Since Sunday, the lake has risen just shy of five inches. Today’s forecast includes a 20 percent chance of more rain.

HEALTH FORUM – The Wise County Health Forum meets at 9 this morning at Decatur City Hall Council Chambers.

FIREWORKS FUNDRAISER – Decatur FFA Alumni is having its annual fundraiser at Fireworks World June 24-July 4. The air conditioned store and Decatur FFA staff is located north of town about a mile before the Alvord Business U.S. 81/287 exit on the left. Hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. June 24-30 and 9 a.m.-midnight July 1-4.

BLOOD DRIVE – Rhome Pharmacy will host a Carter BloodCare Blood Drive at 400 S. Main Street in Rhome 9 a.m.-noon Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome, or appointments can be made by calling Best Value Rhome Pharmacy at 817-638-5561.

CAR WASH – Balsora Baptist Church youth group is having a car wash 5-8 p.m. Friday at Auto Zone in Bridgeport. Donations will be accepted and will go toward a mission trip.

GARAGE SALE – The Rhome Senior Citizen garage sale is today through Saturday at 401 E. Hickory St.

VINTAGE MARKET – A champagne brunch and early shopping event at Petticoats on the Prairie is 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Decatur Civic Center. Tickets are $30 in advance. Email potp@outlook.com. The event is a premier vintage market of West Texas that will set up noon to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be vintage and repurposed antiques and furniture, handmade goods, rusty and weathered treasures and “cool junk.”

RECEPTION – First State Bank in Chico is hosting a reception honoring Berniece Bailey and Perry Johnson for their years of service to the bank 4-6 p.m. Friday at the Chico Senior Citizens Center on the west side of the Chico Square.

BLOOD DRIVE — Carter BloodCare is holding a blood drive 8 a.m.-5 p.m. today at Fit-N-Wise at Wise Regional Health System in Decatur.

FUNERALS – Service for Jerry Caudill, 62, of Wichita Falls is 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

MEMORIAL service for Beth Marlena Geron, 57, of Alvord is 10 a.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church. Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur is handling arrangements.

GRAVESIDE memorial service for Herman McCasland, 75, formerly of Bridgeport is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport is handling arrangements.

SERVICE for Marvene Meason, 68, of Boyd is pending at Hawkins-Bridgeport.

FUNERAL for Nancy Huff Blank, 78, of Decatur is 10 a.m. today at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery.

MEMORIAL service for Jay Yarbrough, 71, of Boyd is 2 p.m. Sunday at Christian-Hawkins.
