WATCH FOR FLOODING – Heavy rain overnight has already led to flash flooding in parts of Wise County. At times, U.S. 81/287 near the roadside park between Decatur and Alvord has been covered by water, and local fire departments have been dispatched to vehicles stranded by high water. As of 7:45 a.m., rainfall amounts included 4.9 inches in Alvord, 2.32 in Decatur and 0.45 in Bridgeport. Wise County will remain in a flash flood warning until 8:30 a.m. today and a flash flood watch until Friday afternoon. Heavy rain is forecast to continue today and tonight.

COPPER THEFTS – The Decatur Police Department is investigating copper thefts at Wise Electric Co-op that occurred July 11 and July 14. Sgt. Gerald Wright said suspects cut the Co-op yard’s fence sometime between the hours of midnight and 3 a.m. on those dates. He also believes there were at least two people involved. Wright said the suspect vehicle appears to be a recent model (’10 to ’13) Camaro. BASEBALL LEAGUE – The Decatur Baseball League will be accepting registrations for the 2014 Fall Season this weekend at the Decatur City Hall building (201 East Walnut Street) in the conference room facing Harmon Park. Fees are $60 for T-Ball and 5/6U, $85 for 8U and up. Registration dates and times are as follows: Saturday, July 19 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.), Sunday, July 20 (1-4 p.m.), Saturday, July 26 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.), Sunday, July 27 (1-4 p.m.). BOOSTER CLUB MEETING – The Decatur Athletic Booster Club will meet at 6 tonight in the second story lecture room at the high school.

READING PROGRAM – Chico Public Library’s Fizz, Boom, Read program for children concludes with “Gametastic” 11 a.m.-noon today. Participants should bring their reading logs as prizes for most books read will be awarded. For more information contact Michelle at 940-644-2330.

WRESTLING AT CHURCH – The Christian Wrestling Federation will be at Movement Church in Rhome (1194 CR 4651) at 10 a.m. Sunday. The group of Christian athletes has wrestled in front of thousands of people from as far away as Nigeria, Egypt and Mexico. TREK TO THE LIBRARY – Middle and high school kids entering grades 6-12 in the fall are invited to a free screening of “Star Trek: Into Darkness” at 4 p.m. Friday at Decatur Public Library (1700 FM 51 South). No sign-up required.

DEMOCRATIC MEETING – The Wise County Democratic Party will meet at 6:15 p.m. Monday, July 21 at the Wise County Law Enforcement Center courtroom, 200 Rook Ramsey Dr. in Decatur.

FREE MAMMOGRAMS – The Mary’s Gift program at Wise Regional Health System is offering free mammogram screenings for eligible women next Wednesday, July 23, by appointment only. Call 940-626-1384 to apply.

SPORTING CLAY EVENT – The Chico Athletic Booster Club will hold its first Sporting Clay event Friday at Fossil Pointe Sporting Grounds near Slidell. Registration is at 8 a.m. with competition at 9. FUNERAL for Ann Carter, 84, of Chico is 2 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial at Chico Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

SERVICE for Betty Jane Shelton, 88, formerly of Boyd is pending at Hawkins-Bridgeport.
