DECATUR WRECK – A two-vehicle wreck just after 4 p.m. Wednesday near downtown Decatur resulted in no major injuries but did close a major road for about an hour. Decatur Police Chief Rex Hoskins said Precinct 2 Constable Larry Short was northbound on South Cowan Street when he ran a stop sign at the intersection with West Main Street. Short’s county pickup struck the front driver’s side corner of a westbound passenger car driven by Tristyn Hand, 23, of Chico. The impact sent Short’s vehicle into an electrical pole, which was pushed several feet at the base, and Hand’s vehicle ended up in a nearby vacant lot on the north side of West Main. Short’s truck also took out a stop sign on the north end of the intersection.

  1. The Rhome City Council situation… Yet another brain child of Joanne Wilson and Ronnie More. Arguing just for the sake of arguing is mindless and gets you nowhere. I don’t think these two need to worry about term limitations if that deal passes in a vote.
