THEFT SUSPECTS ARRESTED AFTER CHASE – A man and woman were arrested Wednesday afternoon after leading officers on a chase north of Chico. At 2 p.m. a homeowner on County Road 1480 saw the couple taking tools from his shop. The homeowner called 911 and began following the suspects. He saw them throw tools from their vehicle. Wise County sheriff’s deputy Steven Yancey and Sgt. Cavin Riggs finally stopped the vehicle on Farm Road 2265. Inside they discovered items taken from the homeowner, as well as additional items that were likely stolen from other homes in the area. A positive I.D. of the suspects is pending. The man told officers he’s from the Azle area, but the woman is not cooperating. If you saw this vehicle in the area of FM 2265 yesterday, call Sheriff’s Office Investigator Jim Rodgers at 940-627-5971. They also recommend that homeowners in the area check their homes, shops and barns for missing tools or household items. Both suspects are in Wise County Jail.
