QUEENS CONTEST – The 2014 Wise County Youth Fair kicks off 6 p.m. Saturday with the Queens Contest at the Women’s Building on the Wise County Fairgrounds. Livestock shows start first thing Monday morning and continue throughout the week. Youth will also be participating in food competitions, arts and crafts, clothing, photography and ag mechanics contests. The full schedule is in this week’s All Around Wise. BUSY VOTING DAY – Yesterday was the busiest day of early voting yet as 238 people cast their ballots in the March 4 primary elections. Early voting continues 8 a.m.-5 p.m. today and tomorrow at Decatur City Hall, Bridgeport Law Enforcement Center and Rhome City Hall.

PARADISE, DECATUR HOLD MEETS – The Panther Relays will start at 3:30 in Paradise today with several Wise County schools running. Decatur will also host the Eagle Relays.

BENEFIT BAKE SALE – The family of Wise County resident David Ray Crunk Jr., 33, will hold a bake sale at First State Bank Bridgeport location Friday. Crunk is at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix awaiting a heart transplant. The benefit will help pay for medical expenses. An account is also set up at First State Bank locations in Chico, Bridgeport, Paradise and Runaway Bay under his sister’s name, Tiffany White. “Team David Ray” T-shirts are also being sold as a fundraiser. More benefits will be held at a later date.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETING – The Wise County Historical Society meets at noon today in the G.C. Rann auditorium on the second floor of the Wise County Heritage Museum at 1602 S. Trinity in Decatur. Guest speaker will be Jungus Jordan, a Fort Worth City Councilman whose father was a member of the Lost Battalion. The public is invited. RSVP by 10 a.m. to the museum at 940-627-5586.

OFFICE CLOSED – The Wise County Veteran Service Office will be closed Friday for staff to attend training.

GIRLS SOFTBALL – Signups for the Decatur Girls Softball Association for ages 5-14 will end Friday. For more information, call Jason Jones at 940-393-5401.

VETERANS BREAKFAST – The Wise County Veterans Group will hold its weekly breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Decatur Civic Center. All Wise County Veterans are invited.

SPECIAL NEEDS BASEBALL – Wise County Special Needs Baseball spring registration is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Decatur Public Library. Registration is $20, and late registration after Saturday is $35. More information and registration forms are available at www.WCSpecialNeeds.com.

TECHNO EXPO – The Northwest ISD third annual Techno Expo is 5:30-8:30 tonight, at Northwest High School. Dinner will be served by students in the district’s Academy of Culinary Arts and Hospitality beginning at 5 p.m. Selected students will present and demonstrate their use of technology in the classroom during a series of more than 300 breakout sessions from 6:30-8 p.m. Topics includes animation, digital video, multimedia and website design.

FUNERAL for Ezell Singleton Jr., 50, of Newark is 11 a.m. Saturday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

MEMORIAL graveside service for Norma Lee Montgomery Coble, 84, of Runaway Bay is 1:30 p.m. Friday at DFW National Cemetery. Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport is handling arrangements.

FUNERAL for Ronny Rhine, 71, of Paradise is 2 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

FUNERAL for Barbara June Seibold, 75, of Newark is 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Boyd with burial at Aurora Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

FUNERAL for Lou Etta Armstrong, 91, of Paradise is 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel at Jones Family Funeral Home with burial at Paradise Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
