3 HURT IN WRECK – Three people were injured Friday night in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Texas 199 near the Wise/Parker County line. The accident was reported at 9:15 p.m. Victims were trapped in both vehicles for a time. Boonsville/Balsora, Salt Creek and Poolville firefighters responded along with two Wise County EMS ambulances. Both drivers and a passenger in one of the cars were taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth by ground ambulance. Further details of the wreck, including the identities of those involved, have not been released by the Department of Public Safety as of Monday morning.

STAY WARM – The temperature in Decatur at 7:45 this morning was 14 degrees, and today’s high is expected to top out around 30. A wind chill advisory for the area remains in effect until 9 a.m. The National Weather Service said wind chill readings for our area will fall to near zero by mid morning. Tonight’s overnight low is expected to drop to 16 degrees.

BRIDGEPORT LIBRARY CLOSED – The Bridgeport Public Library will be closed for renovations today through Jan. 19. For more information call 940-683-3450.

RELAY KICKOFF – The Relay For Life of Wise County kickoff is come-and-go 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Decatur. Finger foods will be served. CHAMBER LUNCHEON – The Paradise Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon is noon-1 p.m. today at City Hall. Lunch, which will be catered by Don Jorge’s, is $10 a plate. Raffle prizes are welcome.

STEP UP, SCALE DOWN – Wise County’s Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is sponsoring Step Up and Scale Down, a 12-week weight management program. The series begins Tuesday and continues weekly through March at Decatur City Hall. The program includes weekly lessons to help manage your weight, weekly challenges and healthy recipes. K2 PLAY - The Decatur Public Library will host K2 Play, a monthly playgroup for children in kindergarten through second grade, at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Children will enjoy a short story, sensory activities and games. No signup is required. Call the library at 940-393-0290 for more information.

FUNERALS – Service for Shirley Jenkins, 71, of Runaway Bay is pending at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.

FUNERAL for Esperanza “Hope” Garza, 64, of Bridgeport is 2 p.m. today at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial at the Mexican Cemetery. Hawkins-Bridgeport is handling arrangements.

FUNERAL for Pauline Mitchell, 94, of Bridgeport is 11 a.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Family visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

SERVICE for Wayne Davis, 86, of Decatur is pending at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

NO SERVICE is scheduled at this time for David Ray Jones, 65, of Decatur. Coker-Hawkins is handling arrangements.
