Drivers beware hazardous, wreck-prone roads as snow pelts county

All drivers need to take extreme caution when hitting roadways today. Accidents are being reported on almost all major roads. Freezing rain, sleet and large flakes of snow pelted Wise County from early morning until early afternoon. Slick and icy conditions have led to wrecks and rollovers in Alvord, Rhome, Decatur, Newark, Aurora, Slidell and Greenwood. No life-threatening injuries have been reported but firefighters, medics and law enforcement officers have worked nonstop today responding to calls. Roads that have been slowed down or temporarily shut down include FM 51, FM 718, U.S. 287 and Texas 114.
