One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident about 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. 380 and Farm Road 1658 in Bridgeport.
Police Chief Randy Singleton said a pickup was traveling west on U.S. 380 and ran the red light at Farm Road 1658, hitting a vehicle traveling southbound on 1658 through the intersection.
Singleton said the driver of the pickup was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated manslaughter. He was not injured and had no passengers.
Two helicopter ambulances were called to the scene for the people in the other vehicle. A man, who was trapped, was flown by PHI to a Metroplex hospital. Life Team 68 landed at the scene and was preparing to transport a female patient, but she died in the back of the ground ambulance. Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Clay Poynor pronounced her dead. There were no other passengers in the car.
