Two men were injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision near Decatur Wednesday.
Although the extent of their injuries was not known, Trooper Adolfo Patterson said both victims were conscious and alert at the scene.
One was transported by ground ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth and the other to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur.
Investigators believe Douglas Stutt, 47, of Paradise was southbound on Acorn Drive in a white pickup. Stutt attempted to move over when he saw a northbound SUV, driven by Brandon Gunnells, 44, of Springtown.
Stutt drove off the roadway, overcorrected and started to spin before striking the SUV head-on. Gunnells became trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated.
Decatur Fire Department, Wise County medics and sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident, which was toned out around 11:30 a.m.
Acorn Drive is located in the Seven Wires addition west of Decatur.
