Swimming: Rowden captures freestyle, butterfly

Katey Rowden won the 100 freestyle and 50 butterfly Saturday at the sprint invitational in The Colony.

Rowden turned in a 56.23 in the 100, and 27.57 in the butterfly.

The Decatur girls finished third as a team.

Rowden joined Allie Blevins, Kate Grant and Emily Howdeshell on the 100 freestyle relay that took third in 53.07.

The same quartet was eighth in the 200 relay in 1:54.71.

Blevins took fifth in the 25 freestyle in 13.72, and seventh in the 200 in 2:13.97.

Grant garnered sixth in the 50 backstroke in 33.27.

Colton Teter finished fifth in the 25 freestyle in 12.18. Ethan Miles was eighth in the 50 backstroke in 28.76.
